RAISING A COTTAGE TO CREATE A LARGE FAMILY HOME
In this extensive renovation project, we converted a single-storey weatherboard cottage into a new two-storey modern beach-style family home.
In a technically exacting procedure, the entire cottage was raised to allow for an extension below. The new residence incorporates a kitchen, four bathrooms, a master bedroom, office, new living spaces, children’s bedrooms and a TV area for the kids. We also completed a new outdoor entertaining area, a concrete swimming pool, a granny flat and structural landscaping to the front yard. The exterior is rendered brick and James Hardie Stria™ fibre-cement wall cladding; the roof is Colorbond® steel.
