A lifelong passion for architecture and building

Diamond and Lambert Builders (DNL) have long been highly regarded as one of the most experienced builders on Sydney’s North Shore and Northern Beaches.

Michael Lambert and David Lambert feel fortunate to have been business partners of a special kind – father and son who share a passion for building, architecture and family.

Michael completed his apprenticeship as a boat builder in the early 1970s for a leading Sydney company, absorbing the ethos of fine craftsmanship. Establishing DNL with John Diamond in 1975, Michael quickly gained the respect of many architects, proving a master builder and craftsman.

Michael’s son, David, completed his apprenticeship with a leading building company in 1989 and became site foreman. He subsequently studied to become a qualified builder and, after the retirement of John Diamond, joined his father in business in 2010.

Over the last 30 years David has been involved in projects as varied as new houses, house renovations and office fitouts making him well versed in all areas of the construction industry.

David’s passion is residential work undertaking both large and small building projects and consistently fulfilling clients’ dreams across the North Shore and Northern Beaches of Sydney.

Michael and David have always preferred a hands-on approach, providing consistent communication to clients. Anyone who has worked with this family team will attest to their genuine personal engagement and integrity. Their portfolio of exceptional work speaks volumes about their talent and commitment to their craft.

David has since taken over the running of the business, and feels very fortunate to have someone with Michael’s experience continuing to be available.

DNL continue to deliver the same personalised, genuine service that has been provided in the past and that the business has become known for over the last 45 years.

COVID-19 Adaptations

Over 45 years DNL has encountered many different obstacles and hurdles and, along with you, we are dealing with the global tragedy of COVID-19. With our priority on health we have adjusted some of our work practices and we continue to enjoy the delivery of our building services to our clients.

Where we have a distinct site we have implemented changes to our site induction, hand washing and cleaning activities and we do our best to maintain physical distancing while working and on breaks. For renovations where our clients are still living in their home, we are determining the protocols we will mutually use, including physical distancing, hand washing, and cleaning. We have also found that with clients working from home we have been able to make some timely decisions regarding their renovations!
