Contemporary renovation & extension, Manly

The client asked us to seamlessly renovate and extend their home and to provide more space for guests and their home-based business. The extension would include a guest retreat, yoga room, outdoor entertaining area and swimming pool and underground wine cellar. 

The clients’ home was very close to its boundary. To complete the extension the client purchased a neighbouring property, whose heritage facade had to be retained, so the frontages of both buildings were styled sympathetically. As the houses are close to a beach, the soft ground presented structural challenges. External walls are double brick render; shingles were applied to the extension; roofing is Colorbond steel.
